Frequently Asked Questions
To learn more, see the answers to our frequently asked questions below:
What can I use a Beneficiary Loan for?
You can use the loan to unlock the potential in your inheritance, whatever that means for you. Take that holiday of a lifetime, renovate a property or pay university tuition – it’s up to you.
When can I apply for a Loan?
For Estates where there is a valid Will, Loans are available pre and post-Grant of Probate. For intestate Estates, Loans are available after the grant of letters of administration.
What if there is no Will?
If there is no Will we can still provide a loan providing letters of administration have been granted.
Do I need a Professional Firm to manage the Estate?
We require a professional firm approved by Ampla to confirm the assets and liabilities in the Estate, typically this firm would be instructed by the personal representatives to assist with probate / letters of administration.
We also require a professional firm to be responsible for the distribution of certain assets in the Estate and repay the Loan to Ampla. Where this involves the sale of a property, the professional firm would often be the conveyancing solicitor.
Does my credit status matter?
We will perform a credit check on each customer, but the value of the inheritance is the key factor, not your personal circumstances or credit score.
What happens if my final inheritance is not enough to repay the loan?
If circumstances change and your final inheritance does not cover the balance payable on the Loan, then the lender takes the risk – we will not require you to pay the shortfall, provided there has been no Default Event under the Loan terms and conditions.
What security do you require?
The Beneficiary Loan is a regulated credit agreement, secured by an assignment of the proceeds you will receive from the Estate. The loan is not secured on any property or land.
How much can I borrow?
You can borrow up to 70% of your share of the assets of the Estate you are due to inherit. Our underwriters will assess your application and aim to give you a decision in a few working days.
When do I repay the Loan, and can I pay it off early?
There are no penalties whatsoever for repaying the loan early, either in a single payment or by instalments. The Loan will normally become repayable when the professional firm receives the proceeds of the Estate.
Testimonials
"Just wanted to say a huge thank you for your efforts to secure our probate loan. We had been messed around by several companies who said they could assist, but came back with totally unreasonable criterion.
Ampla were transparent in all requirements from the outset. The speed in which you executed the necessary paperwork resulted in a very speedy turnaround. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Ampla to anyone looking to secure a loan. A huge thank you."
